After getting frustrated in the first two games, Detroit unleashed to win the series finale in a blowout. Minnesota’s starter Camilo Pascual had been on a roll, but got pounded for nine runs.

Detroit backup catcher Johnny Bassler had just 10 hits on the season before this contest, but had a perfect day with four singles and a walk in the nine spot. Detroit’s six, seven, and eight hitters–George Kell, Charles Gehringer, and Alan Trammell–each had three knocks.
