May 24: Texas 3, Kansas City 2

Kevin Appier was maneuvering niftily through six innings pitched, but he stepped on a couple of mines to start the seventh. Juan Gonzalez and Rafael Palmeiro jacked back-to-back homers, and all of a sudden Texas was ahead 3-2. Gonzalez, Palmeiro, and Alex Rodriguez are all among the top 10 homer hitters for the year, and Texas as a team is in a virtual tie with New York for homer-happiest squad.
