Anaheim built a 7-3 lead after five innings, highlighted by a Tim Salmon grand slam, but the Orioles stormed right back in the sixth and seventh. Baltimore is taking advantage of the cozy dimensions at Camden Yards, including four homers in this game. Bobby Grich somehow managed to play second base for both teams.

Game 3

Nolan Ryan’s brand of “effectively wild” was anything but effective in this one as the strike zone completely eluded him. Baltimore accepted six walks while Ryan could only find six outs before being lifted for the only slightly more effective Frank Tanana. Anaheim now finds themselves in the cellar of the expansion division.
