Hi. Welcome to my little obsession, a baseball season played using Strat-O-Matic cards of my own creation. 14 American League teams made up of their greatest players. You can get most of the gory details by clicking the “about” tab above, and if there’s anything you’d still like to know, give the “contact” tab a try.
The teams have all played around 15 games before I got this here page up on the series of tubes. So far, highlights have included a super hot start by the Mariners and two shutouts hurled by Toronto’s Doyle Alexander in consecutive starts. Alexander has one of the more unimpressive starting pitcher cards by this league’s high standards, but he’ll be going for three straight shutouts in his next start.
Now that the site is up, I’m planning to play one full series a day and have the results of those (usually three) games posted to the site early the next morning. There will naturally be days I can’t find time to throw the dice, and some days I’ll probably play more than a few games, but I hope to have something like a daily update about the previous day’s games to help salve the dreaded baseball-less winter months.
